How do I set up
an appointment?
Call C&HRA at 913-677-5255 and leave a message for a specific
therapist or a general message for the office. Your message
will be returned in a timely manner.
How long will I be in therapy?
The length of therapy depends on each client’s situation
and individual needs. When working on situational issues therapy
is often behavioral and psychoeduactional. Therapy focuses on
problem solving and is time limited. Therapist and client agree
to a specific number of sessions and evaluate if more are needed.
Conversely, clients often come to therapy for complex issues
which may require more in-depth treatment. This type of therapy
is process oriented and open –ended. Through a mutual
understanding, therapist and client agree that this approach
is on-going, focusing on working through and resolving deep
emotional issues.
How do I know if my therapist is qualified?
A qualified therapist is licensed by the professional regulatory
board of the State in which the professional practices. At Counseling
and Human Relations Associates, LLC, each therapist has a clinical
social work license sanctioned by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences
Regulatory Board. Licenses are renewed every 2 years and require
a clinical social worker to maintain 40 continuing educational
hours with an emphasis on diagnosis and ethics.
